This is the front entrance of the Turtle Alley. Don't forget to take a selfie with the cute turtle there!
This stretch of narrow alley, approximately 50 meter long. It is hope that this alley will bring awareness to the public on the importance to save the beautiful creature. It has information on turtle conservation. I really did enjoy myself strolling along this alley, while at the same time find it very educational.
Don't forget to look down at your feet!
The starts of the walkway from the front entrance.
There are 28 turtle mosaics on the floor starting with this cute little fella.
On one side of the wall, there is a stretch of metallic plates mounted on the wall. The plates are based on the story of Little Turtle Messenger. Take your time to read the stories told by Maya. Maya is the little girl depicted in the storybook written by Chan Eng Heng and illustrated by Tan Yisin.
An inspiring story about a dream that turns into reality. About Maya's effort to encourage others to save the turtles.
At the end of the story line, you'll find this particular mosaic of Maya and the turtle, that was created and assembled by Tan Yisin in 2011.
On another side of the wall, there are another 31 turtle mosaics mounted on the wall. Some of them are accompanied by plates that provide information on the species. Some of the turtles are created for the fun purpose.
This mosaic here was created and assembled by Chan Eng Heng in 2011 as an expression of her 16 years involvement in a marine turtle conservation project at the Chagar Hutang Turtle Sanctuary in Redang Island, Terengganu. Each of the 16 hatchlings in the mosaic represents one year of hatchlings released from the egg protection and incubation program on the island. Close to half a million marine turtle eggs have been saved from human consumption and 400,000 hatchlings returned to the ocean.
This large mosaic is also created by Chan Eng Heng featuring three cute pipping hatchlings hope to appeal to the public to stop eating turtle eggs. The Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia is carrying out a campaign to get members of the public to make a life-long commitment to NOT eat turtle eggs.
Last but not least, take a great lot of pictures! There's turtle replica at the rear entrance. Mom was so happy to meet that fella back there. Hihiii..
Have fun!
